Role Overview
Join a globally distributed engineering team as a Senior Software Developer, working remotely to design and enhance a large-scale SaaS platform used by automotive retailers and manufacturers worldwide. You'll play a key technical role in shaping backend systems and delivering robust, scalable solutions while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams based in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production-grade software using C# and the .NET ecosystem
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex features, from design to deployment
- Collaborate with technical leads and product managers to align engineering work with business objectives
- Contribute to architectural discussions and help define long-term technical direction
- Write clean, testable code with a strong emphasis on reliability and maintainability
- Conduct thorough code reviews and help uphold high engineering standards
- Mentor junior developers through hands-on collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Help refine CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and development workflows
- Balance rapid delivery with the demands of enterprise-level performance and uptime
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in software development at a senior level
- Extensive experience with C# and building production systems
- Proven track record delivering applications using .NET and .NET Core
- Strong SQL skills with real-world database design and optimization
- Familiarity with Azure or cloud platforms (3+ years preferred)
- Experience working on high-availability, mission-critical systems
- Comfortable taking ownership of large technical initiatives
- Skilled at working independently in a distributed team setting
- Typical workload: 70% backend, 30% frontend development
Preferred Background
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
- Prior work on mature, scalable SaaS products
- History of leading technical projects or driving engineering initiatives
