Role Overview
This position leads agile practices within a high-performing, cross-functional team focused on delivering secure, high-quality software. As a Senior Scrum Master, you will guide ceremonies, eliminate obstacles, and foster a culture of continuous improvement while actively contributing to technical delivery through design, code review, and development tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate core Scrum events including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to maintain rhythm and accountability.
- Identify and resolve impediments affecting team velocity, whether internal or cross-team in nature.
- Coach developers, testers, and DevOps engineers in agile principles to strengthen team autonomy and delivery quality.
- Oversee a distributed team engaged in development, testing, and DevOps operations, ensuring alignment and cohesion.
- Ensure product increments are delivered securely, on time, and meet organisational standards.
- Work closely with stakeholders across regions to maintain visibility and shared understanding of progress.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to delivery and adapt practices to improve outcomes.
- Align team objectives with broader business goals and promote a mindset of ongoing growth.
- Contribute directly to technical work including solution architecture, code reviews, and hands-on implementation, with roughly 80% technical focus and 20% dedicated to agile leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record as a Scrum Master within agile environments, supporting high-performing teams.
- Deep familiarity with agile frameworks and metrics such as burn-down charts, backlog health, and velocity tracking.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery pipelines and associated tooling.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence without authority.
- Experience mentoring technical roles across development, testing, and operations functions.
- Leadership experience managing teams of 10 or more members in a collaborative setting.
- Technical proficiency in React.js, Node.js, Java or C#, and cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Maven, GitHub/GitLab, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Understanding of DevOps principles and secure software delivery practices.
