Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and testing of advanced algorithms for overhead persistent infrared and electro-optical/infrared remote sensing systems, focusing on detecting, tracking, locating, and characterizing targets.
- Develop, code, and assess algorithms related to EO/IR sensor and camera performance, including noise simulation, radiometric calibration, and sensitivity evaluations.
- Examine optical signature data to identify target behaviors, define signature characteristics, and produce scientifically sound intelligence outputs.
- Perform remote sensing analysis across multiple platforms, integrating data from diverse sensors, collection angles, and real-time streams.
- Support the full Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) cycle for OPIR operations.
- Evaluate and verify analytic deliverables for technical correctness and operational relevance; detect shortcomings and suggest enhancements.
- Keep thorough, replicable records of analytical processes, including methods, assumptions, workflows, and outcomes.
- Respond promptly to urgent EO/IR analysis needs and adjust to changing mission demands.
- Assess new algorithms, exploitation tools, and analysis platforms; assist in capability comparisons and trade studies.
- Produce and present technical reports, findings, and briefings to stakeholders and program leads.
- Guide junior analysts and help shape team-wide analytic standards and methodologies.
