About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust backend services in a fully remote setup. The role emphasizes clean code, system reliability, and collaboration within a distributed team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server-side logic using Ruby on Rails
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements
- Design and optimize database schemas and queries
- Write automated tests to ensure code quality and reliability
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues
- Participate in code reviews to uphold engineering standards
- Contribute to API design and documentation

- Support infrastructure monitoring and alerting
- Collaborate with product teams to refine requirements

- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation
- Follow agile development practices and sprint cycles
- Assist in architectural planning for new features
- Evaluate and adopt new tools and frameworks
- Respond to on-call incidents when necessary
- Mentor junior developers when needed
- Stay current with backend technology trends

- Support deployment across staging and production environments
- Contribute to post-mortem analyses after system events
