Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of renewable natural gas processing, gas collection infrastructure, and pipeline networks.
- Direct routine and emergency landfill gas monitoring and optimize wellfield distribution strategies.
- Analyze system performance data and adjust vacuum levels, liquid handling, and header setups to reduce oxygen entry.
- Supervise well dewatering initiatives and assess pump system functionality.
- Coordinate updates to infrastructure due to evolving landfill layout and expansion.
- Carry out tasks within active waste disposal zones on a regular basis.
- Assess how landfill activities affect gas collection system efficiency and suggest improvements.
- Arrange for safe access and safeguard gas infrastructure during landfill operations.
- Lead scheduled maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Identify and resolve issues across all site equipment, including compressors, blowers, pumps, membranes, PSA units, analyzers, sensors, and associated plant components.
- Perform in-depth diagnostics on control and measurement systems, including calibration of flow, pressure, temperature, and level instruments.
- Inspect and fix electrical circuits up to 480 volts using testing devices while adhering to safety codes and regulations.
- Assist in planning and carrying out planned shutdowns and maintenance tasks, including identifying necessary tools, parts, and contractor support.
- Execute and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in wellhead assemblies, lateral lines, header systems, and condensate handling equipment.
- Lead repairs on HDPE piping, well connections, valve replacements, and small-scale construction tasks.
- Conduct advanced diagnostics on control and monitoring instrumentation.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, PHMSA, and local air quality permit regulations.
- Assist during environmental monitoring activities and official regulatory inspections.
- Implement and document lockout/tagout procedures and required safety permits.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly worksite in alignment with company policies.
- Train and guide junior RNG technicians in operational procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and safety protocols.
- Act as lead technician in the absence of the primary lead.
- Work with engineering and project teams during system startups, performance evaluations, and process enhancements.
- Communicate clearly with cross-functional groups, including maintenance, environmental, and compliance staff.
