Orium is hiring a Senior React Native Developer (6-month fixed-term contract)

Responsibilities

  • Lead or play a senior contributing role in delivering enterprise-grade mobile solutions using React Native.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, Product Owners, and client-side engineering teams.
  • Contribute to technical and architectural decisions, particularly in shared ownership or client-integrated environments.
  • Participate in estimation, prioritization, and delivery planning to support on-time, on-budget execution.
  • Provide functional mentorship and technical guidance to peers when needed.
  • Uphold high standards for code quality, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly and proactively with both internal teams and client stakeholder.
  • Evaluate when and how to apply AI-assisted development responsibly, balancing efficiency with sound engineering judgment.
  • Explore opportunities to integrate automation and AI into workflows (e.g., test generation, scaffolding, documentation, debugging assistance, architecture exploration).
  • Contribute to shaping Orium’s internal adoption of AI for software development and share learnings with the team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of industry experience with React Native and React, including experience delivering production mobile applications
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and modern development best practices
  • Experience collaborating with or integrating alongside native mobile teams (iOS and/or Android)
  • Solid experience with modern JavaScript, CSS, and responsive design patterns, with exposure to mobile performance optimization
  • Familiarity with modern mobile tooling, debugging, and deployment workflows — including experience with platforms such as Expo and/or Firebase in production environments
  • Experience contributing to large-scale or business-critical applications, ideally in client-facing or consulting contexts
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking around the role of AI in development, understanding both the opportunities and limitations as part of the engineering process.
  • A mindset of continuous learning, experimentation, and curiosity.

Additional Information

  • This role will begin as a 6-month fixed-term agreement, with the possibility of converting to a full-time, permanent position based on performance, business needs, and mutual fit.
  • Your work will be measured across a number of data points (peer, leader & project team feedback) and will also be measured on the basis of client and user satisfaction.
