A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to lead cost management activities for a major infrastructure programme based in Dublin. This role operates under a hybrid arrangement, with three days per week on-site and two days remote.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take ownership of the programme’s cost management strategy, ensuring accurate forecasting, rigorous control processes, and compliance with contractual obligations. This includes developing and maintaining cost control frameworks aligned with industry standards and contractual requirements.
Core duties involve reviewing contractor performance indicators related to budget and expenditure, overseeing variation management, and managing cashflow forecasts. You will assess and approve post-contract valuations, including variation orders, cost reports, and final accounts across work packages.
You will provide expert input on pre-tender estimates by evaluating bills of quantities and schedules of rates, offering recommendations to strengthen budget development. A key aspect of the role is supporting the Contracting Entity in responding to contractor claims, including dispute resolution and commercial negotiations.
The role also involves advising the Risk team on financial impacts of programme risks, challenging final cost forecasts, and establishing clear escalation paths for cost-related issues. You will ensure robust reporting systems are in place to deliver timely and accurate financial data across the organisation.
Building strong relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and professional bodies is essential to promote effective collaboration and value-driven outcomes throughout procurement and delivery phases.
