Role Overview
This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of a major segment of the platform. As the primary quality advocate, you will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and automation specialists to shape testing approaches that align with business goals and technical architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the quality strategy for a core product area, ensuring thorough validation of features, integrations, and data integrity.
- Build deep knowledge of business logic to anticipate potential issues early in the development lifecycle.
- Convert unclear or evolving requirements into structured test plans using Qase or comparable tools.
- Create and execute intricate test cases that span multiple systems and simulate real-world usage patterns.
- Conduct in-depth exploratory testing to expose hidden defects and edge conditions.
- Oversee regression planning and adapt test coverage as the platform evolves.
- Work alongside automation teams to identify and prioritize high-impact test scenarios for automation.
- Review defect patterns to recommend changes that prevent recurring problems.
- Engage in design and architecture discussions to promote testable, resilient systems.
- Articulate release risks and quality tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Guide junior analysts in improving testing discipline, documentation standards, and risk awareness.
- Strengthen acceptance criteria and definition of done across product development workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and methodically about software quality.
- Skilled at questioning assumptions and clarifying ambiguous requirements.
- Experience creating and managing manual test suites in tools like Qase.
- Proven track record in designing and running complex, cross-system test scenarios.
- Firm belief that quality is a team-wide responsibility, not a final checkpoint.
- Strong capability in validating intricate workflows and data pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with automation engineers to grow automated coverage over time.
