RBC Borealis is hiring a Senior Project Manager/ Scrum Master

About the Role

Lead the end-to-end delivery of multifaceted technology projects by applying advanced project management practices across both Agile and traditional frameworks. This role oversees programs that may include multiple parallel workstreams, often involving other project managers and Scrum Masters, requiring strong coordination and strategic oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the planning, scheduling, and execution of complex initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Act as a central point of contact between internal teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders, fostering collaboration and resolving cross-functional challenges.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project timelines, identifying potential risks early and establishing clear escalation paths for leadership review.
  • Manage project finances, including budget tracking, resource allocation, and value tracking through formal project assessment reports.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level updates and presentations for senior leaders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Champion continuous improvement by advancing Agile practices and optimizing team workflows across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must bring over a decade of combined project management and Scrum Master experience, with at least five years focused on Agile environments. A proven track record in managing large-scale, technology-driven projects involving system integration and organizational change is essential. Familiarity with financial services or matrixed organizations is an advantage.

An undergraduate degree and professional certifications such as CSM or PMP are required. Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint is expected. Strong command of SDLC, risk assessment, sprint planning, release tracking, and change management frameworks is critical for success.
