The University of British Columbia (UBC) is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Anlagenbau) / Leitender Projektingenieur to lead the coordination of all technical tasks for factory projects. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, forecasting, and managing these projects to ensure optimal resource use and high quality from start to finish.
What You'll Do
- Lead process engineering planning and concept development for industrial plants.
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects.
- Monitor compliance with applicable practices, performance standards, and technical specifications.
- Perform overall quality control on budget, schedule, plans, and contractor performance, reporting regularly on status.
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate necessary corrective actions.
- Interact daily with internal and external clients to interpret needs and represent them in the field.
- Participate in assembly monitoring and plant commissioning.
- Create safety considerations and risk analyses.
- Execute and coordinate multidisciplinary feasibility studies.
- Manage coordination and negotiations with suppliers and customers.
What We're Looking For
- A completed diploma or master's degree in process engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, or a similar field.
- Solid experience in the development, planning, and commissioning of industrial plants in a project management role.
- Ability to work on multiple discipline projects and teams with advanced project management and supervision skills.
- Enjoy working collaboratively in a team with people from different disciplines.
- A fluent level of English and German language skills is mandatory.
