Responsibilities

  • Shape product vision across cloud compute, storage, and related managed offerings.
  • Develop a long-term roadmap that distinguishes the platform in the managed cloud and IaaS space.
  • Lead compute modernization through template rationalization, hardware standardization, and tier migration strategies.
  • Determine optimal paths for developing, acquiring, or partnering on capabilities like backup, disaster recovery, and managed databases.
  • Analyze competitors including hyperscalers, alternative cloud providers, and managed hosting firms to guide market positioning.
  • Convert industry trends, customer demands, and technological changes into strategic product initiatives.
  • Manage the complete product lifecycle from concept to launch, adoption, and ongoing refinement.
  • Own the compute product domain, including instance types, sizing models, templates, provisioning workflows, and upgrade automation.
  • Lead cloud storage and data resilience features such as block and object storage, archival layers, backup systems, and disaster recovery configurations.
  • Define product requirements, author specifications, and coordinate execution with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
  • Make confident decisions balancing scope, delivery timelines, and technical trade-offs.
  • Own revenue planning for the platform, including pricing models, packaging structures, and expansion strategies.
  • Improve net revenue retention via upsell, cross-sell, automated right-sizing, and retention-driven enhancements.
  • Collaborate with sales and solutions teams to guide enterprise deal structuring and technical positioning.
  • Monitor and report on financial KPIs such as Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), gross margin, cost-to-serve, and customer lifetime value.
  • Evaluate how pricing models, service tiers, and packaging influence customer behavior and unit economics.
  • Gain deep insight into enterprise infrastructure buyers, including their procurement constraints, decision drivers, and usage patterns.
  • Turn customer pain points—like cost volatility, data protection gaps, vendor dependency, and operational complexity—into product direction.
  • Engage directly with customers, partners, and infrastructure communities to validate strategy and gather market feedback.
  • Establish feedback mechanisms with customer-facing teams to inform continuous roadmap updates.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership to shape technical decisions in compute and storage architecture.
  • Partner with marketing on brand positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution.
  • Coordinate with other product leaders across networking, edge, security, and application services for platform-wide alignment.
  • Collaborate with hardware and data center operations on capacity forecasting, hardware lifecycle management, and infrastructure efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of product management experience in cloud infrastructure, IaaS, or hosting environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of compute technologies including virtualization, hypervisors, bare metal, and dedicated servers.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end compute or storage products, including instance design, provisioning, and pricing.
  • History of owning P&L or revenue accountability for infrastructure products.
  • Experience designing products for enterprise clients with complex compliance, integration, and procurement needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft and execute multi-year product strategies beyond feature delivery.
  • Solid commercial acumen with understanding of pricing models, service tiers, net revenue retention (NRR), and revenue impact.
  • Background in compute modernization, hardware lifecycle planning, or platform migration programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working at a cloud infrastructure provider, managed hosting firm, or alternative cloud platform—outside major hyperscalers.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions such as DRaaS, backup-as-a-service, and replication layers.
  • Experience with managed database offerings including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments and compliance standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or SOC 2.
  • Understanding of cloud repatriation strategies and cost dynamics between public cloud and dedicated infrastructure.
  • Exposure to GPU-based compute, AI/ML workloads, or high-performance computing (HPC) systems.
  • Background in consultative or solutions-oriented sales processes.
