AECOM is hiring a Senior Process Piping Design Engineer, Data Center

Lead the engineering and design of process piping systems for high-performance data center environments, ensuring solutions meet rigorous technical and operational demands. Translate project objectives into functional designs, applying deep knowledge of system requirements and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce comprehensive piping layouts, specifications, and documentation aligned with project goals and regulatory standards
  • Perform stress, thermal, and hydraulic analyses to validate system reliability under operating conditions
  • Select materials and components based on pressure, temperature, and chemical exposure requirements
  • Guide piping engineering from initial concept through construction, maintaining schedule and budget discipline
  • Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and electrical teams to integrate piping within complex facility designs
  • Develop cost projections, timelines, and risk evaluations for piping scope
  • Verify compliance with applicable codes including ASME, API, ANSI, and OSHA
  • Conduct quality reviews during design and field implementation phases
  • Optimize system performance through flow modeling and pressure drop assessments
  • Address field issues during installation, startup, and operational phases
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and designers
  • Promote team-wide knowledge exchange and technical growth
  • Present design outcomes and progress reports to clients and project stakeholders
  • Support procurement activities by specifying equipment and materials

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate advanced proficiency in process piping design, project execution, and cross-disciplinary coordination. Familiarity with safety, efficiency, and cost optimization in industrial systems is essential. Knowledge of standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, and OSHA is required. Prior experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments is preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid model, with primary locations based at offices on the US West Coast. Some flexibility for remote work is supported, balancing collaboration with independent project execution.
