Responsibilities
- Work independently while collaborating closely with team members through detailed code reviews, mentorship, and alignment on technical strategy, while also supporting feature teams in adopting platform capabilities.
- Design and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, applying software engineering principles to build reusable, testable, and consistently deployable infrastructure modules.
- Own the deployment, configuration, and ongoing operations of Kubernetes clusters on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), including networking, scaling, upgrades, and resilience.
- Build and maintain custom CI/CD pipelines tailored to platform needs, integrating tools like Argo CD or Atlantis to automate builds, testing, and deployments efficiently.
- Lead the diagnosis and resolution of platform-level issues such as performance constraints, scalability limits, and security flaws using logs, metrics, and cross-team collaboration.
- Lead automation efforts to minimize manual operations, reduce errors, and increase system stability by developing scripts and workflows for provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.
- Partner with development teams to understand their infrastructure requirements, guide platform usage, and translate needs into product roadmap items for internal platform services.
- Contribute to the full development lifecycle of internal APIs and tools that improve platform usability, self-service capabilities, and engineering efficiency.
- Enforce security standards across the platform including access controls, encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance with regulations like SOC 2 and GDPR through audits and testing.
