About the Role
This position is responsible for sourcing and closing mortgage loans by building relationships with real estate agents, builders, and individual clients. The officer operates in the field, meeting prospects and customers to assess financing needs and provide tailored mortgage solutions.
Responsibilities
- Originate residential mortgage loans through direct outreach and networking
- Develop and maintain relationships with real estate professionals and referral partners
- Conduct client consultations to assess financial goals and mortgage eligibility
- Guide borrowers through the loan application and documentation process
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of loan files for underwriting
- Explain loan products, terms, and rate options to clients
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly production goals
- Stay current on market trends, interest rates, and lending regulations
- Represent the organization at industry events and community functions
- Coordinate with internal teams to support loan processing and closing
- Follow up with leads promptly and maintain a pipeline of prospects
- Educate clients on down payment assistance programs and loan qualifications
- Maintain compliance with all federal and state lending laws
- Use CRM tools to track interactions and manage client portfolios
- Provide regular updates on sales activity and market feedback
