Responsibilities
- Lead the development and ongoing improvement of React Native and Expo-based applications supporting key customer and broker experiences.
- Produce clean, maintainable code in TypeScript and React Native, using both manual and AI-assisted methods like Claude Code, with an emphasis on secure-by-default patterns.
- Design and take ownership of core architectural components including navigation, data layers, Zustand state management, module boundaries, and native integrations via Expo Modules API.
- Develop and maintain internal npm packages shared across multiple applications, such as deep linking, push notifications, and developer tools, to ensure consistency and reusability.
- Partner with product, design, and backend teams to deliver full-stack features, integrating APIs and ensuring seamless performance across iOS and Android platforms.
- Apply security-first principles including threat modeling, least-privilege access, and secure handling of sensitive financial information.
- Implement observability through analytics, real user monitoring, structured logs, crash reporting, and alerting systems to support production stability.
- Support CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket, Buildkite, and EAS Build, while participating in code reviews, automated testing, and ongoing refactoring efforts.
- Collaborate with AI coding agents by drafting OpenSpec proposals, reviewing AI-generated pull requests, and refining internal practices around agentic development.
- Mentor fellow engineers and promote technical excellence within a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
