Responsibilities
- Own and strengthen the ML serving API for NBA recommendations, collaborating with a data engineer to ensure it supports low-latency production traffic
- Develop a standardized deployment pipeline to transform model artifacts into versioned, deployable, and rollback-capable production services using infrastructure-as-code
- Establish core monitoring systems including dashboards for latency, errors, and model drift, along with alerting and traceability across models and agents
- Build a collaborative partnership with the platform team and serve as the data team’s primary contact for ML serving and reliability decisions
- Lead the ML serving platform and deployment pipelines for NBA and other ML models, supported by data engineering
- Ensure at least one production model and one production agent are fully instrumented with versioning, monitoring, alerting, and multi-tenant controls
- Create a standardized end-to-end process for deploying new ML models into production
- Lead architectural design across APIs, data pipelines, distributed computing, storage, search, observability, cloud infrastructure, and model serving workflows
- Mentor data engineers in MLOps practices so they can independently maintain and extend ML systems
- Act as the technical lead for production ML operations within the data team, serving as the go-to expert for reliable ML deployment
- Deliver measurable improvements in system latency and operational cost efficiency
- Help shape the future roadmap for ML infrastructure in collaboration with product management and data science
- Provide input on hiring strategy as the team grows to meet scaling demands

Team size: 5. Composed of one data scientist, two data engineers, one data analyst, and one product manager. Reports to the data team and acts as the operational liaison to the platform team managing the agent runtime.
