About the Role
The Senior Manager, Trust & Safety will lead initiatives to protect users and maintain platform integrity by developing policies, managing risk, and overseeing enforcement operations in a remote-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of trust and safety policies across digital platforms
- Oversee incident response protocols for policy violations and security threats
- Collaborate with product teams to integrate safety features into user experiences
- Analyze risk trends and user behavior to proactively address emerging threats
- Manage a team responsible for content moderation and account integrity
- Develop metrics and reporting systems to measure program effectiveness
- Work with legal and compliance to align policies with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with external partners and platforms on safety enforcement
- Establish escalation pathways for high-risk user safety issues
- Drive continuous improvement of trust and safety tooling and workflows
- Conduct root cause analysis on systemic safety challenges
- Support investigations into fraudulent or abusive platform activity
- Ensure consistent enforcement of community standards across regions
- Advocate for user safety in product development discussions
- Maintain documentation for policies, procedures, and response playbooks
- Train team members on evolving safety risks and mitigation tactics
- Evaluate third-party vendors for moderation and detection capabilities
- Communicate safety updates to internal stakeholders
- Monitor regulatory developments affecting online trust and safety
- Balance user safety with privacy and free expression principles
- Respond to executive-level inquiries about safety performance
- Guide crisis management efforts during major platform incidents
- Promote a culture of accountability and ethical decision-making
- Optimize operational efficiency within trust and safety programs
- Ensure alignment between automated systems and human review processes
