Responsibilities
- Handle civil litigation of moderate complexity for the company and policyholders, adhering to defined protocols and ethical principles
- Evaluate legal cases, develop strategies for favorable results, and negotiate settlements when suitable
- Oversee discovery processes, prepare legal documents such as pleadings and briefs, and perform legal research to inform case approaches
- Serve as legal representative in court trials, mediation sessions, arbitration proceedings, and settlement discussions
- Present arguments and defend client interests in state and federal judicial courts, administrative panels, and regulatory forums
- Monitor evolving legal developments to maintain robust and enforceable policies
