Role Overview
As the Senior BIOS Lead Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and validation of BIOS and UEFI firmware across a range of systems. Your work will directly influence product reliability and performance, ensuring alignment with both manufacturing needs and customer expectations. You will collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, and project stakeholders to deliver fully integrated, high-quality firmware solutions on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop standardized BIOS features and modules, creating detailed specifications and implementation guidelines for internal use.
- Collaborate with independent BIOS vendors (IBVs) and lead cross-functional engineering teams to develop, test, and deploy BIOS firmware for production systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex firmware-level issues impacting manufacturing or field performance, ensuring timely resolution.
- Engage with technology partners and vendors to align their product roadmaps with internal technical requirements.
- Design and implement custom BIOS features based on specific customer needs, enhancing product differentiation and supportability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in BIOS or UEFI firmware development.
- Strong understanding of x86 architecture and core industry standards including PCIe, ACPI, JEDEC, USB, ATA, IPMI, and Redfish.
- Proven experience with BIOS firmware frameworks and code structures, particularly in AMI, Insyde, or Phoenix-based projects.
- Familiarity with Intel PI Specification, EDK I, and EDK II development environments.
- Advanced debugging and problem-solving skills in low-level system software.
- Fluency in English with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS) features within firmware environments is highly valued.
