Cresta is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Agent)

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and deploy AI agents using an advanced AI platform, ensuring optimal performance through continuous tuning and refinement.
  • Integrate AI agents with third-party systems such as APIs, databases, and CRM platforms to enable smooth operational workflows.
  • Enhance AI agent effectiveness by fine-tuning prompts and configurations, and resolve technical challenges in large-scale enterprise settings.
  • Partner with clients and internal teams to collect technical specifications and convert business objectives into functional AI agent implementations.
  • Deliver live demonstrations and develop proof-of-concept prototypes for potential clients, incorporating feedback to improve solution fit.
  • Establish project timelines, define key milestones, and manage cross-team coordination to ensure timely delivery of deployments.
  • Supply actionable insights to product and engineering teams by identifying functional gaps, developing internal tools, and shaping future platform enhancements.
  • Work closely with product managers to define agent KPIs, iterate based on user input, and influence feature development that drives customer value.
  • Act as a technical consultant to clients, advising on effective strategies for adopting and deploying AI agents.
  • Offer expert guidance on system architecture, security protocols, and long-term scalability when implementing AI agent solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in software development, consulting, or AI/ML engineering roles.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and Golang, with a focus on writing maintainable and efficient code.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, paired with solid project coordination experience.
  • Skilled in using data analytics, A/B testing, and performance metrics to guide technical decisions.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams focused on solving real-world customer challenges.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of core AI and machine learning principles.
  • Direct experience working with large language models and prompt engineering methods is highly desirable.
  • Solid grasp of AI agent architectures, including function calling and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Prior experience building or deploying AI agent systems is strongly recommended.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and DevOps practices like CI/CD and containerization.
  • Hands-on background integrating applications via APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines.
