This is a Senior or higher-level position.
Our ideal candidate is a highly experienced Firmware engineer with expert-level proficiency in Android Open Source Project. Beyond technical skills, we seek professionals experienced with low-level API navigation, AOSP implementation, and custom hardware Android solutions. Jetpack Compose experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Responsibilities include comprehensive firmware engineering management:
Support hardware initiatives through firmware code creation and review
Collaborate with product management on technical requirements
Engage with manufacturing partners for hardware-firmware compatibility
Conduct rigorous firmware and software application testing
Develop and maintain comprehensive firmware documentation
Ensure seamless hardware-firmware component integration
Manage firmware development project timelines
Provide internal and external firmware technical support
Performance optimization across hardware and software layers
Stay current with firmware engineering and Android AOSP trends
Investigate hardware-software interaction challenges
Maintain clear stakeholder communication
Requirements:
6+ years Android-focused firmware development experience
Advanced AOSP and Android SDK expertise
Custom hardware development background
Hands-on Wi-Fi/Bluetooth API implementation
Strong release management and OTA workflow understanding
Technical troubleshooting mindset
Electrical engineering background preferred
AWS CodeBuild and CodeCommit experience
Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
Effective remote team collaboration abilities
