Join a growing engineering organization as a Senior Engineering Manager leading the Data Pipeline team, responsible for managing the end-to-end flow of real-time customer events at scale. This team powers a critical part of the platform infrastructure, handling massive volumes of data with high reliability and performance. You'll oversee a group of 6–7 engineers, including senior technical contributors, data specialists, SREs, and QA, guiding both technical direction and individual growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and evolution of a high-throughput, low-latency tracking pipeline, ensuring resilience and scalability under enterprise workloads
- Drive architectural improvements to reduce system bottlenecks, particularly around database pressure and data consistency in distributed environments
- Break down complex initiatives—such as unified tracking and security enhancements—into clear, actionable deliverables with defined milestones
- Enforce engineering best practices including code quality, test automation (E2E with Robot Framework), observability, and incident preparedness
- Balance feature development, technical debt reduction, and operational responsibilities—including on-call and L3 support—to maintain system health
- Support career development through regular feedback, goal setting, and alignment with a structured progression framework
- Collaborate with product and engineering partners across multiple domains to align priorities and manage cross-team dependencies
- Represent the team in strategic discussions, advocating for resources, timelines, and technical investments
Leadership & Culture
You’ll foster a team environment rooted in ownership, continuous learning, and mutual respect. Encourage engineers to take initiative, celebrate their contributions, and create space for skill development through workshops, demos, and knowledge sharing. You’ll also participate in broader leadership programs and have access to coaching support for both personal and team growth.
Environment & Benefits
The role operates in a virtual-first model with team members across Central Europe. Enjoy flexible hours, meaningful personal development opportunities, and programs designed to support well-being—including mental health resources, fitness activities, and quarterly DisConnect days. The company offers an annual education budget, volunteer time off, and performance-based bonuses. Compensation includes stock units or options, with additional rewards for referrals and tenure.
Applicants should bring experience managing backend or data engineering teams in distributed systems environments, with strong communication skills and a proven ability to lead through complexity. Familiarity with incident management and on-call operations is a plus.
