Lead engineering innovation with impact by overseeing the integration of artificial intelligence into core product systems. This role is central to advancing how engineering teams build, deploy, and maintain software by fostering AI-first practices across development workflows and platform architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the strategic direction of AI-powered features in collaboration with product and technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Own end-to-end delivery of critical systems, emphasizing performance, reliability, and 24/7 availability.
- Transform shared engineering functions such as DevOps and Quality Assurance from support roles into proactive, value-driving partners.
- Champion the adoption of AI-enhanced tools and methodologies to improve code quality, development speed, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders to define subsystem boundaries, improve platform design, and guide long-term technical strategy.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and SaaS platforms to identify opportunities for process and service improvements.
- Provide technical leadership across agile teams, ensuring best practices in distributed systems, CI/CD, and test automation are consistently applied.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- Over a decade of experience leading engineering teams, with deep expertise in managing both people and complex technical environments.
- Proven success in redefining engineering support functions to become strategic contributors within product development.
- Direct experience building AI-native applications using AWS technologies such as Bedrock or Agent Core.
- Strong foundation in web application architecture, object-oriented design, service-oriented systems, and systems thinking.
- Skilled at translating technical challenges to business audiences and conveying strategic goals to engineering teams.
- Experience mentoring teams through technical problem-solving, performance optimization, and incident resolution.
- Fluency in agile development practices and their real-world implementation across large-scale systems.
Work Environment
This position operates in a hybrid model, with team members expected to work in person 2–3 days per week in Denver, San Francisco, New York City, or Scottsdale. Remote arrangements are supported for candidates with reliable internet connectivity. Compensation
Base salary ranges from $189,000 to $237,000 annually, with final offers based on individual experience and technical depth. Additional equity or bonus structures may be available.
