Scan.com is looking for a Senior Engineer to play a key role in shipping high-quality projects and shaping product strategy. You will translate complex requirements into technical specifications, working on internal tools for performance and external patient-facing tools to enhance user experience.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing web applications.
- Write and maintain reliable, clean code.
- Identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs.
- Integrate user-facing elements designed by the team.
- Connect applications with additional web servers.
- Maintain existing APIs.
- Mentor engineers.
- Design, develop, and launch at least three key features or tools enhancing performance and user experience.
- Proactively resolve bugs, bottlenecks, and technical debt to improve system reliability.
- Establish strong relationships with engineers for seamless backend/frontend integration.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
- Embed company values through team-building activities and initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience.
- Ability to write clean code.
- Proficiency with code versioning tools, including GitHub.
- Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Organized communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Hotwire, ReactJS, and Tailwind.
- Familiarity with testing tools.
- Familiarity with HIPAA.
- Experience with other third-party services: AWS, Stripe, Hubspot, Slack, and Boldsign.
