We are seeking a skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our research and development team in West Los Angeles. In this role, you will develop and optimize embedded software for Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) radios used in demanding operational environments. Your work will directly support reliable, secure communications for critical missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement software components for MAC and ad-hoc networking protocols
- Develop network management tools and web-based interfaces for system control
- Integrate security protocols and cryptographic algorithms, including CNSA suite compliance
- Build audio streaming and push-to-talk voice applications
- Enhance system security and reliability to meet standards such as NIST FIPS 140-3 and NIAP Common Criteria
- Create automated testing frameworks for performance and stability validation
- Develop and maintain device drivers and board support packages for ARM and RISC-V architectures
- Customize Linux systems and write scripts to streamline operations
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of five years of embedded software experience is required, or three years with an advanced STEM degree.
Essential skills include strong proficiency in C programming, hands-on experience with Linux kernel and driver development, and a solid grasp of networking fundamentals. U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to government contract requirements. All hires are subject to passing a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Experience
- Advanced degree in a relevant technical discipline
- Experience with socket programming and Internet/Ethernet protocols
- Familiarity with AMD UltraScale+ MPSoC or Microchip Polarfire SoC BSP development
- Knowledge of IPsec, data authentication, and encryption techniques
- Experience developing Linux Interrupt Service Routines
Work Environment
