About the Role
This position supports the design and development of electrical distribution networks for public and private sector clients, emphasizing innovation, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and design of medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for grid upgrades
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications
- Perform load flow, short circuit, and coordination studies
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and safety regulations
- Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Support construction oversight and field verification activities
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
- Develop single-line diagrams and schematics
- Coordinate with utility providers and regulatory bodies
- Manage project deliverables within schedule and budget constraints
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
- Participate in client meetings and project presentations
- Contribute to sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Experience with smart grid technologies
- Project experience in transportation or transit electrification
- Familiarity with SCADA systems for distribution monitoring
- Knowledge of microgrid design principles
- Experience in storm hardening or resiliency projects
- Working knowledge of distributed energy resources integration
- Prior work with public sector procurement processes
- Proficiency in ETAP or SKM software
- Track record delivering large-scale utility projects
