Role Overview
As a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer and Tech Lead, you will lead the architecture and development of systems that power a global ad platform. Your work will directly impact performance, scalability, and reliability across a high-volume, low-latency environment. You'll combine deep technical expertise with hands-on leadership to deliver robust solutions at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of distributed systems that support global ad delivery and tracking with high performance and observability
- Develop and optimize HTTP and gRPC services, along with batch processing pipelines, using Java and Python
- Diagnose, analyze, and resolve production issues, ensuring systems meet strict reliability and efficiency standards
- Establish and uphold engineering best practices—from infrastructure setup to configuration management and monitoring in production
- Guide teams through technical challenges, project scoping, and system design decisions
- Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high coding standards and promote knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications
- Strong grasp of system internals, including hardware, software layers, and algorithmic behavior
- Deep understanding of core internet technologies such as DNS, HTTP, and cookies
- Proven experience designing concurrent and distributed systems across multiple levels of scale
- Ability to monitor, analyze, and derive actionable insights from live system behavior
- Skilled in performance analysis—both theoretical modeling and real-world optimization
- Familiarity with challenges and patterns in high scalability and high availability systems
- Fluency in English at C1 level; proficiency in Polish required
Preferred Background
- Experience in AdTech or Real Time Bidding environments
- Prior work with Real User Monitoring (RUM) platforms
