As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining resilient infrastructure that spans on-premises data centers and major cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and security of systems used by Fortune 500 and government clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable deployment of services with full rollback capabilities.
- Use Terraform as the foundation for infrastructure provisioning, ensuring consistent, auditable, and compliant environments across all stages.
- Automate infrastructure and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Helm, Packer, and scripting languages like Bash and Python.
- Collaborate with development, QA, architecture, and IT security teams to align on operational strategy, pipeline efficiency, and long-term automation goals.
- Conduct thorough reviews of code, deployment pipelines, and system architecture to uphold standards for performance, security, and maintainability.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues through root cause analysis and implement solutions that prevent recurrence.
- Monitor system health using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/Logstash, creating dashboards and alerts that provide real-time operational insight.
- Build and manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient orchestration and service resilience.
- Enforce secure access controls in AWS through IAM policies, role-based permissions, and integration with SSO via Okta.
- Document processes, workflows, and system configurations in Jira and Confluence, ensuring knowledge is accessible and up to date.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic planning to advance team capabilities and operational maturity.
Required Qualifications
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering within large-scale production environments.
- Deep experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes.
- Expert-level skills in Terraform and Helm for infrastructure and deployment automation.
- Proven track record with Ansible for configuration management and automation tasks.
- Strong background in building and refining CI/CD workflows using Jenkins and GitLab.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration, particularly on RHEL-based systems.
- Familiarity with VMware for virtualized infrastructure management.
- Scripting fluency in Bash or Python to develop automation tools and streamline operations.
- Experience implementing monitoring and alerting solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/Logstash, including custom dashboard creation.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture patterns.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, work across teams, and contribute to architectural decisions.
