Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of design strategies for large-scale construction projects
- Manage and mentor a team of design professionals across multiple disciplines
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental requirements
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and external consultants to align design deliverables
- Drive innovation in design methodologies and digital engineering practices
- Oversee the integration of BIM and other digital tools into project workflows
- Monitor design progress against project timelines and budgets
- Identify and mitigate design-related risks throughout project lifecycle
- Champion sustainability and value engineering in design solutions
- Represent the design function in client and stakeholder meetings
- Ensure consistency in design quality across all project phases
- Support bid development with technical design input
- Facilitate design reviews and assurance processes
- Promote collaboration between design, construction, and procurement teams
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the design department
- Ensure adherence to quality management systems and assurance protocols
- Manage relationships with external design partners and consultants
- Oversee the production of design documentation and specifications
- Support the implementation of design standards and best practices
- Contribute to organizational design capability development
