About the Role
This position involves overseeing the stability, performance, and security of enterprise database systems, working closely with technical teams to support scalable and resilient data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain database performance across production and development environments
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to protect data assets
- Design and execute database schema changes in alignment with application needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and performance bottlenecks
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries and stored procedures
- Ensure database security through access controls and compliance with policies
- Support database migrations and upgrades with minimal service disruption
- Maintain documentation for database configurations and operational procedures
- Perform capacity planning to anticipate future storage and performance needs
- Configure and manage replication and clustering for high availability
- Evaluate and deploy new database technologies and tools
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data consistency and regulatory compliance
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing
- Work with infrastructure teams to optimize underlying hardware and storage
- Provide on-call support for critical database issues
- Train junior staff on database administration best practices
- Enforce data governance standards across database systems
- Optimize indexing and partitioning strategies for large datasets
- Monitor system logs for anomalies and potential security threats
- Coordinate with security teams during vulnerability assessments
