Responsibilities
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives across Europe, the UK, the US, and other jurisdictions, including market entry and expansion, strategic partnerships, cross-border transactions, and global hiring programmes.
- Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance, efficiency, and successful outcomes.
- Provide strategic, business-focused legal advice on corporate governance, entity maintenance, structuring, capitalisation, contracting, and regulatory requirements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements (e.g. supplier, customer, partnership, etc).
- Manage day-to-day legal tasks and ensure the efficient delivery of legal services across the organisation.
- Develop and implement processes, templates, and playbooks to improve workflows, promote consistent standards, and support scalability.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with operations.
- Monitor regulatory developments relevant to international technology companies and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
- Oversee any legal matters outside privacy, intellectual property, and product compliance.
- Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the business and with external counsel.
- Act as a strategic partner to leadership, translating complex legal concepts into clear, practical advice and enabling sound decision-making.
- Continuously refine and improve legal processes and procedures within the Corporate & Commercial department.
- Collaborate with other legal functions to promote knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with at least 8 years’ post-qualification experience gained in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house at a multinational technology company.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-border corporate and commercial projects, particularly involving Europe, the UK, and the US.
- Proven track record supporting international technology companies and navigating diverse regulatory environments.
- Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to structure and close a wide range of commercial agreements.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with an ability to drive initiatives from inception to completion while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in English at a C1 level.
- Excellent communicator and confident negotiator with the ability to simplify complex legal issues for non-lawyers and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- High degree of business acumen, problem-solving aptitude, and ability to balance legal risk against business objectives.
Nice to Have
- Candidates with both law firm and in-house backgrounds will be strongly preferred.
