Role Overview

The Senior Commercial Officer is responsible for guiding the assessment of commercial impacts and contractual foundations when handling claims. You will lead or support negotiations with clients, ensuring outcomes support both legal requirements and strategic business aims. This role operates within a secure, technically advanced setting, requiring precision and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal evaluations to determine the commercial and contractual implications of claims
  • Lead or assist in negotiating proposals and claims with customers to reach mutually acceptable agreements
  • Manage end-to-end coordination of claims and proposals, including drafting, review, and finalization
  • Prepare and maintain contractual documentation and data, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance data integrity and streamline processes

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience in contract drafting and direct customer negotiation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage workloads, and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong understanding of commercial principles and contractual frameworks
  • All candidates must meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard
  • Many positions require National Security Vetting; applicants typically need 5–10 years of continuous UK residency
  • Eligibility may be affected by nationality history, prior citizenships, and place of birth

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in Barrow-in-Furness, requiring three days per week on-site. The environment is structured, secure, and focused on high-integrity project delivery.
