Responsibilities
- Lead cable engineering projects from initial feasibility and conceptual planning through detailed design, installation oversight, and commissioning phases
- Evaluate advanced HVAC and HVDC cable system designs, covering route planning, burial hazard analysis, and thermal, electromagnetic, and mechanical performance assessments
- Perform cable system analyses including current-carrying capacity, short circuit stress, thermal behavior, and electromagnetic interference evaluation
- Conduct engineering assessments for cable installation methods such as pulling, splicing, clamping, and site feasibility
- Work closely with civil, structural, substation, and overhead line specialists to deliver coordinated, integrated designs
- Perform independent inspections and provide support during factory and site acceptance testing, installation, and startup procedures
- Engage with equipment vendors, suppliers, and construction teams to ensure adherence to IEC, CIGRÉ, National Grid Technical Policies, and global standards
- Take part in client engagements, technical reviews, hazard identification studies, and cross-functional coordination sessions
