Responsibilities
- Participate in collaborative sessions or individual discussions to understand business challenges directly, clarify requirements, and define clear success criteria for reporting solutions.
- Keep a Confluence documentation page updated with business rules, metric definitions, and source data mappings, ensuring formal approval to prevent misunderstandings.
- Design and implement star or snowflake schema models in Power BI, including table relationships, calculated columns, and measures using DAX and SQL.
- Develop dynamic Power BI reports with interactive elements such as slicers, drill-down paths, and navigation bookmarks to address specific business inquiries.
- Optimize query performance using efficient SQL and DAX code, implement aggregation strategies and incremental refreshes, and review refresh logs to ensure report loading meets service level targets.
- Implement row-level security configurations and maintain basic data lineage records to ensure data integrity and controlled access.
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies by replicating issues, diagnosing root causes, recommending solutions, and keeping stakeholders updated on progress and resolution timelines.
- Collaborate with data warehouse engineers to confirm source data availability and request corrections or improvements to foundational datasets.
- Follow established development standards, workflows, and team-agreed methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Explore emerging features in business intelligence tools and present insights and use cases during team knowledge-sharing sessions.
