MLabs is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our efforts in simplifying multi-chain DeFi for financial institutions. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems for our API platform, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and secure.
What You'll Do
- Lead architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs capable of handling growing user loads.
- Maintain high coding standards through rigorous code reviews and best practices for maintainability and readability.
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize algorithms to improve system performance and availability.
- Implement monitoring, debugging tools, and comprehensive test suites including unit, integration, and E2E tests.
- Provide technical guidance to junior developers and foster a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Analyze complex technical problems and propose effective, production-grade solutions.
What We're Looking For
- You must be based in the EMEA region.
- Strong professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience working with the Stellar network in production environments.
- Extensive professional experience in a senior or lead-level backend role.
- Solid understanding of document databases like MongoDB, caching mechanisms like Redis, and system architecture.
- Strong knowledge of testing frameworks and a proactive mindset toward quality assurance.
- Exceptional written and verbal English skills with the ability to work autonomously in a remote-first environment.
Nice to Have
- Technical understanding of the EVM ecosystem or other blockchain ecosystems.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
- Experience with Stellar’s Soroban smart contracts.

- Salary range of 90K – 130K EUR per year.
