Deutsche Services Polska Sp. z o.o. is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer

Deutsche India Private Limited, Mumbai Branch, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Corporate Bank department. You will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining applications for our cryptocurrency platform, designing, coding, testing, and documenting programs in close collaboration with business partners.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain software in Java and Kotlin, building RESTful web services on Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Leverage Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) techniques to work with users, analysts, developers, and testers.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to develop new features and ensure codebase cleanliness and industry-standard compliance.
  • Create reliable and simple-to-maintain software, including being ready for on-call 3rd line support.
  • Regularly participate in peer reviews to ensure code quality, extensibility, and reusability.
  • Engage proactively within the engineering community, share expertise, and establish a robust network.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in a tech/scientific field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in Java (11+) and/or Kotlin, including frameworks like Quarkus, Spring, and Kafka.
  • A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • The ability to write reusable and maintainable code.
  • Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), particularly using Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
  • A team player with strong English communication skills who enjoys sharing knowledge and best practices, learns quickly, listens carefully, and is willing to mentor junior engineers.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with Github actions.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL, document-based databases, and data pipelines.
