As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Product Platform team, you'll play a key role in building the foundational systems that power product development at scale. Your work will focus on designing and refining backend frameworks, shared services, and developer-facing APIs that enable faster, safer feature delivery across the platform.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and JVM-based languages
- Develop reusable service patterns, conventions, and tooling to elevate engineering quality
- Collaborate with product and platform teams to define abstractions that simplify development workflows
- Improve observability, deployment pipelines, and rollout strategies for greater system reliability
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices in API design, modularity, and developer experience
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure decisions, primarily on AWS, to support resilient and efficient services
What We're Looking For
- At least 6 years of experience developing backend systems in cloud-native environments
- Strong command of Java or related JVM languages such as Kotlin or Scala
- Deep understanding of API design principles, distributed systems, and architectural patterns
- Proven experience with deployment pipelines, shared libraries, and service frameworks
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud infrastructure management
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset in cross-functional settings
- Ability to analyze trade-offs in data structures and algorithms within large-scale systems
