About the Role
You will lead the design and development of backend services and architecture for a brokerage API platform, taking full ownership of features in cross-functional teams. You'll ensure production reliability, focus on customer lifecycle and banking processes, and help shape scalable core systems while collaborating with experts to build investment infrastructure for millions of retail investors across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop backend services and systems for a brokerage API platform

Requirements
- Proficient in writing clean, tested code using multiple high-level programming languages such as Python, Golang, Java, or Ruby, along with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Demonstrated experience designing and building highly scalable architectures and robust REST APIs
- Solid background operating software in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure, including knowledge of associated architectural patterns
- Familiarity with both document-based and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
- Capable of producing high-quality, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code
- Experienced in guiding peers through effective code reviews
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex technical challenges
- Proven track record developing and maintaining scalable backend systems in collaborative teams

Your Mission
As a Backend Engineer, you will design and implement backend services for our brokerage API platform that enables companies to integrate investing capabilities. You’ll own features from start to finish in cross-functional teams, ensuring production stability. Your work will center on customer lifecycle, investing, and banking processes, with a focus on making core systems reliable and scalable. The tech stack includes Python, FastAPI, AWS, and Postgres. While prior experience in different stacks is acceptable, enthusiasm for Python is essential. You’ll shape platform architecture and influence business outcomes, working alongside experts to build investment infrastructure for the next 100 million retail investors in Europe.
About you
