We are seeking a seasoned Back-End Engineer specializing in Python to take ownership of our core backend services. In this role, you will architect, build, and maintain scalable APIs and infrastructure that support intelligent travel solutions powered by predictive AI. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll operate within a lean, flat structure where initiative and technical excellence are central to progress.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance backend services using FastAPI and Flask, backed by Postgres databases.
- Architect and refine cloud infrastructure on AWS to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
- Lead the implementation of robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, emphasizing automated testing and code quality.
- Work closely with product, frontend, and data science teams to deliver integrated features that drive analytics and product decisions.
- Guide and mentor fellow engineers in best practices for system design, testing, and maintainability.
- Help shape engineering standards, tools, and workflows to continuously improve team effectiveness.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale backend systems in Python.
- Strong command of FastAPI and Flask for API development.
- Deep familiarity with Postgres and database optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience designing and managing backend services on AWS.
- Track record of implementing CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitLab.
- Experience working cross-functionally with product and data teams.
- Leadership experience mentoring engineers and improving team practices.
Work Environment
This role offers flexibility: work from our office or in a hybrid setup in Geneva, Switzerland, or remotely as a contractor (B2B) within GMT+1 to GMT+4 regions.
