Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end creation and deployment of advanced features, from concept through to live operation.
- Anticipate technical challenges and make sound architecture choices with little need for supervision.
- Leverage artificial intelligence coding assistants to speed up development, while rigorously checking outputs for accuracy and safety.
- Create straightforward, usable documentation for API users.
- Ensure comprehensive automated test coverage for all developed components.
- Take full ownership of code within assigned product domains, including services in a microservices setup.
- Refactor and update outdated systems to improve long-term code health and ease of maintenance.
- Adhere to best practices in code review, source control, continuous integration and deployment, and secure software development.
- Diagnose and resolve system issues using log and telemetry analysis, delivering stable and trustworthy fixes.
- Mentor peers and contribute to improving team-wide engineering standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional experience developing web applications or backend APIs using C#.
- Demonstrated ability to lead architectural design and evaluate technical trade-offs.
- Solid grasp of object-oriented design principles and established design patterns (GoF).
- Hands-on experience with microservices, as well as modernizing and maintaining legacy systems.
- Proficiency in data modeling, MS SQL, and optimizing data access layers.
- Experience designing, implementing, and debugging APIs.
- Strong background in unit and integration testing using frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, FluentAssertions, and Moq.
- Capable of managing code from initial commit through to production, with deep experience in CI/CD and Git workflows.
- Knowledge of core web security concepts and secure coding techniques.
- Regular use of AI-powered development tools in real-world, production-grade coding—not just for experimentation.
- Effective communication skills and at least intermediate-level English proficiency.
Nice to Have
- Experience embedding large language models or AI capabilities into software products, such as agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or MCP-based tooling.
- Background in building internal developer tools powered by AI to boost engineering productivity.
