Responsibilities
- Lead and manage ambient air quality programs, including monitoring network design, implementation, operation, and data interpretation.
- Provide technical oversight for ambient air monitoring plans, quality assurance project plans (QAPPs), and standard operating procedures.
- Manage and interpret ambient air quality datasets in support of regulatory compliance, permitting, planning, and health or environmental risk evaluations.
- Support NAAQS-related analyses, State Implementation Plan support, attainment demonstrations, conformity, and regulatory assessments.
- Oversee or support air dispersion modeling and analyses as they relate to ambient air impacts.
- Serve as a technical resource during regulatory reviews, public engagement processes, and agency interactions.
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients on ambient air quality matters.
- Lead or support project planning, scope development, scheduling, and budget management.
- Translate complex technical findings into clear, defensible conclusions for client, regulator, and public-facing audiences.
- Support proposal development and technical scoping for ambient air quality and air monitoring projects.
- Mentor and review work products of junior and mid-level staff, ensuring technical quality and regulatory defensibility.
- Contribute to development of best practices, methodologies, and internal technical guidance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (air permitting, EHS, environmental planning, health sciences) to deliver integrated solutions.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in ambient air monitoring, air quality assessments, and air quality modeling.
- Proven consulting experience.
- Strong regulatory knowledge.
- Ability to lead technical work, advise clients, and mentor staff across a diverse portfolio of ambient air quality projects.
