Shape the future of biometric technology by leading high-impact research from concept to validation. In this role, you'll dive into emerging areas such as palm recognition, face morphing detection, and revocable biometric systems, identifying promising directions and turning them into actionable prototypes.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end research streams, starting with framing ambiguous problems and concluding with functional demos that guide product and technical decisions
- Design and execute experiments to validate novel approaches, often working with incomplete or limited datasets
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to transition prototypes into deployable solutions, maintaining ownership of the machine learning core and evaluation frameworks
- Guide strategic research priorities by demonstrating technical feasibility and long-term value
- Mentor team members and set standards for rigorous, reproducible machine learning experimentation
What We’re Looking For
You have extensive experience applying machine learning to real-world challenges, with a strong foundation in both theory and implementation. You're comfortable interpreting academic research, prototyping solutions in PyTorch or TensorFlow, and adapting methods to practical constraints.
Success here means delivering technical clarity through working proofs of concept—clearly communicating insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You thrive in a product-focused R&D setting where progress is measured by demonstrable results, not just publications.
Technical Environment
Our stack centers on Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow, supported by tooling for experimentation, evaluation, and reproducibility. You’ll work in Linux environments using Docker and Git, ensuring robust and maintainable code.
Work & Culture
This is a hybrid role based in Bratislava or Brno, with approximately 15–20% onsite presence aligned with key collaboration phases or demo milestones. Europe-based candidates can expect regular travel to the headquarters.
We value autonomy, technical excellence, and mutual respect. Our culture is built on accountability, collaboration, and a shared commitment to advancing secure, ethical biometric systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- Monthly salary from €5,200 to €7,200 (Bratislava-based)
- Variable pay program targeting 20% of annual guaranteed compensation, based on company performance
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Opportunities for technical leadership and mentorship
