TRM Labs is hiring a Senior AI Engineer (AI Automation) - LATAM

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain full-stack AI-driven internal applications, covering backend services, APIs, data storage, and user interfaces.
  • Create custom agentic systems using cutting-edge AI models from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Integrate with internal teams to deeply understand their objectives, limitations, and KPIs, then translate insights into technical solutions with defined success metrics.
  • Lead projects from conception to deployment and beyond, including system design, scoping, implementation, iteration, and long-term maintenance.
  • Partner with non-technical stakeholders to expand their understanding of AI capabilities and co-develop innovative, high-impact solutions.
  • Develop robust, scalable systems that support essential functions across the company and influence core operations.
  • Continuously assess solution effectiveness and refine approaches each quarter based on measurable business results.
  • Contribute to a fast-paced engineering culture that emphasizes ownership, quality, speed, and tangible impact.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of full-stack software engineering experience building scalable web applications, services, and APIs.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python, with experience across the full stack including frontend development using React or comparable frameworks.
  • Proven experience developing backend systems, working with databases such as Postgres/pgvector, Pinecone, or Redis, and designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Demonstrated hands-on engagement with AI technologies, including using modern AI models, agentic IDEs, or building AI-enhanced workflows and prototypes.
  • Experience designing or experimenting with custom agentic systems, workflow orchestration platforms like n8n, or agentic browser automation tools.
  • High level of initiative and ownership, capable of independently navigating ambiguous or undefined problem spaces.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to Have

  • Direct experience integrating automated AI evaluation, testing, or observability platforms such as DeepEval, Langfuse, or LangSmith to continuously monitor and validate model performance.

Work Arrangement

Remote (Worldwide) — San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., London, Singapore

Team

The team follows a weekly sprint cycle, where individuals lead projects as technical anchors. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders is standard. Team culture emphasizes psychological safety, accountability, trust, and enjoyment. Timezone coverage includes EST and PST with at least six hours of overlap during 8 AM to 2 PM PST. On-call duties apply specifically to internal tools, including triaging support requests via designated Slack channels.

  • The team operates on a weekly sprint schedule. Individuals are tasked to lead projects as technical anchors, and given a chance to grow and take ownership according to their level and goals. We work closely with our internal stakeholders to deliver impactful features to our internal customers and the company.
