About the Role
This role is responsible for guiding strategic planning processes, developing performance frameworks, and supporting data-driven decision-making to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of strategic planning initiatives across departments and regions
- Develop performance measurement systems to track progress toward organizational goals
- Collaborate with leadership to align strategy with operational priorities
- Analyze program data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Support country offices in adapting global strategies to local contexts
- Facilitate workshops and strategy sessions with cross-functional teams
- Produce reports and briefings on strategic performance indicators
- Ensure consistency between long-term vision and short-term action plans
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies related to strategic goals
- Integrate learning from monitoring efforts into future planning cycles
- Coordinate with finance and program teams to align resource allocation with strategy
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Manage consultants and technical partners involved in strategy development
- Translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of strategic plans and revisions
- Support the adaptation of strategies in response to changing operational environments
- Contribute to organizational learning by capturing best practices and lessons learned
- Ensure strategic frameworks comply with donor and regulatory requirements
- Strengthen capacity of staff to engage in strategic thinking and planning
- Monitor external factors that may influence strategic direction
- Use scenario planning to prepare for potential future challenges
- Evaluate the effectiveness of strategy implementation across regions
- Provide input on organizational restructuring linked to strategic shifts
- Work closely with monitoring, evaluation, and learning teams
- Ensure gender, equity, and inclusion principles are embedded in strategic planning
