Responsibilities
- Analyze security events and adversary behaviors using the MITRE ATT&CK framework to improve detection mechanisms.
- Respond to reported security incidents from external providers, internal systems, and users, while refining triage procedures for efficient handling.
- Support the operation of core security technologies such as intrusion detection and prevention systems, SIEM, endpoint detection and response, web filtering, multi-factor authentication, and email protection.
- Design and execute threat hunting initiatives by examining irregular log patterns, threat intelligence, and team insights to uncover hidden threats.
- Integrate APIs from cloud platforms, enterprise tools, and business applications to expand telemetry sources for detection and response.
- Build automated workflows to accelerate incident analysis and response actions.
- Develop simulated attack scenarios and coordination exercises to test and refine incident response plans and team readiness.
- Carry out vulnerability evaluations, suggest corrective measures, and work with system owners to ensure timely fixes.
- Work with external security providers to configure detection logic and event correlation rules in SIEM systems to spot malicious or unusual behavior.
- Partner with internal teams to uncover gaps in monitoring and improve threat visibility across the environment.
- Assist in deploying and sustaining security systems to ensure reliable and continuous operations.
- Lead cybersecurity education efforts through training and accessible materials to raise awareness and reduce organizational risk.

Compensation
The minimum base salary starts at $145,000 in accordance with the Illinois Equal Pay Act. Final compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and skills. This position includes eligibility for a discretionary performance bonus.
