Join a team at the forefront of computing innovation, where firmware development meets advanced hardware architecture. As a Firmware Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing firmware for ARM-based CPU platforms, enabling next-generation datacenter technologies.
What You'll Do
- Develop and optimize firmware components for ARMv8 and ARMv9 architectures, focusing on system initialization and low-level platform control.
- Collaborate with hardware design teams to refine CPU and system architecture, identifying performance improvements across product generations.
- Implement and validate secure boot mechanisms and system-level error handling to ensure platform reliability and security.
- Work through complex software stacks to debug, analyze, and enhance firmware behavior in real-time environments.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with at least five years in systems-level software development.
- Strong proficiency in C and Python, with hands-on experience in embedded or systems programming.
- Firm grasp of ARM processor architecture, including boot processes, memory management, interrupts, and low-level hardware interaction.
- Experience with real-time systems, concurrency models, virtual memory, and device driver development.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical teams and contribute to architectural discussions.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Background in virtualization technologies such as KVM and QEMU.
- Familiarity with server management standards including IPMI, MCTP, and PLDM.
- Direct experience collaborating with hardware engineers, ODMs, and silicon vendors during platform bring-up and support phases.
- Deep understanding of system interconnects, memory hierarchies, and I/O subsystems in server-class platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary ranging from $152,000 to $287,500 depending on experience level, and is eligible for equity. Additional benefits include comprehensive health coverage, retirement plans, and professional development support.
