Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out testing procedures for sensors such as LiDAR, radar, and others used in the production environment
- Measure and assess key network performance metrics including bandwidth, latency, jitter, and packet loss under various configurations
- Assist in enhancing sensor drivers and data processing pipelines using C++ and Python
- Improve accuracy and reliability in multi-sensor time synchronization using PTP/gPTP, hardware timestamps, and clock calibration methods
- Analyze timing relationships between LiDAR, radar, GNSS/IMU, and vehicle motion to enhance sensor fusion and perception
- Support implementation of sensor safety features, including health checks and status reporting
- Develop software tools and dashboards to monitor and visualize sensor performance metrics like latency, bandwidth, and sync errors
- Record results and communicate actionable insights to engineering teams working on robotics, perception, and systems
