Join a robotics team focused on advancing autonomous mobile systems for freight logistics. In this role, you'll lead the creation and refinement of navigation, path planning, and control algorithms that enable robots to move safely and efficiently through complex environments such as trailers, loading docks, and warehouse floors.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement trajectory generation and path planning solutions tailored to confined and dynamic spaces.
- Develop and fine-tune motion controllers—including PID and MPC approaches—for high-payload robots with challenging physical dynamics.
- Build robust obstacle avoidance strategies that ensure safe operation around people and fixed infrastructure.
- Lead the localization system, integrating sensor data from perception systems into real-time control loops.
- Create simulation environments to accelerate development and validate performance against real-world robot behavior.
- Use telemetry, logs, and operational data from deployed units to diagnose issues and improve system reliability.
- Work closely with perception, hardware, and cloud teams to deliver fully integrated autonomy features.
- Support automated testing and deployment pipelines for control software across the robot fleet.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience delivering navigation and control software that has operated in real customer environments.
- Direct experience tuning control systems on physical robotic platforms.
- Deep understanding of real-world challenges such as wheel slip, shifting loads, and discrepancies between simulation and actual performance.
- Background in deploying autonomous robotic systems into production settings.
