About the Role
The specialist will oversee key components of the revenue cycle, including claims submission, payment posting, denial resolution, and patient billing to support consistent cash flow and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims accurately and on schedule
- Monitor accounts for payment delays or discrepancies
- Resolve denied or rejected claims efficiently
- Post payments and adjustments in financial systems
- Follow up with payers to secure outstanding balances
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients
- Maintain accurate documentation for billing activities
- Respond to inquiries from patients about billing statements
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve coding issues
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards
- Track key performance metrics for revenue cycle efficiency
- Identify and report trends in claim denials
- Support audits by providing necessary billing records
- Assist in process improvements to reduce billing errors
- Work with third-party vendors and clearinghouses as needed
- Stay current with payer policies and industry changes
- Reconcile accounts to ensure financial accuracy
- Assist in onboarding new team members
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial data
- Use electronic health and billing systems effectively
Nice to Have
- Certification in medical billing or coding
- Experience with behavioral health billing
- Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare guidelines
- Familiarity with 1800Tech or similar platforms
- Prior work in a fast-paced startup environment
