About the Role
The Structural Design Engineer will develop, analyze, and validate structural systems for a range of infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements through precise modeling and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed structural models using industry-standard software
- Perform load analysis and stress testing for various environmental conditions
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes and safety regulations
- Collaborate with architects and construction teams during project development
- Produce technical drawings and documentation for fabrication and assembly
- Conduct peer reviews of structural calculations and design outputs
- Optimize structural components for material efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Support field teams during installation and resolve on-site technical issues
- Evaluate existing structures for retrofitting or reinforcement needs
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering standards and practices
- Develop finite element analyses for complex structural systems
- Participate in design validation through simulation and prototyping
- Track project milestones and deliverables within established timelines
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for material specifications
- Apply principles of sustainable design in structural planning
- Use version control for design documentation and revisions
- Integrate feedback from stakeholders into design improvements
- Assist in risk assessment and mitigation planning for structural integrity
- Prepare reports summarizing design performance and testing outcomes
- Support quality assurance processes across design and implementation phases
- Engage in continuous improvement of design workflows and tools
- Troubleshoot structural failures or performance deviations
- Contribute to feasibility studies for new construction concepts
- Maintain accurate records of design decisions and engineering rationale
- Adapt designs to accommodate site-specific constraints and conditions
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in structural engineering
- Experience with BIM platforms such as Revit
- Certification in structural safety or risk assessment
- Background in high-rise or industrial construction
- Familiarity with drone-based structural inspections
